Capsimax vs Cayenne: Two Thermogenic Fat burners

Capsimax is a thermogenic fat burner that is certainly levelling up to Cayenne pepper which is another thermogenic fat burner. In this post we will compare both fat burners looking into their ingredients, food sources and evidence-based benefits as well as side effects.

What is Capsimax?

Capsimax is a thermogenic fat burner made of variety of ingredients but the active ingredients that drive weight loss are Capsicum, green coffee and caffeine. Capsicum (the primary ingredient). Most people recognise capsicum as red hot chilli peppers. Capsicums originate from South and central America, they grow on bushy plants that are 60-80 cm tall. The active ingredient in Capsimax is Capsicum and is most commonly helpful for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It is also good for digestive problems and some heart problems but there is little evidence proving its effectiveness for these conditions.

Beside these health uses, Capsicum is now recognised for its fat burning effects. The capsaicinoids in Capsimax speed up your metabolism and breaks down body fat to release energy. This occurs thanks to the thermogenic effect which causes the body to generate extra heat from within allowing you to burn more calories per day.  You can purchase Capsimax on Amazon or alternatively check out the purest form of capsicum.

Both Capsicum and cayenne pepper have shown to curb appetite and speed up metabolism. This is great because not only will you eat less but also burn more calories in a day. Some research shows that taking capsicum which is an active ingredient in Cayenne peppers reduces stomach fat, waist and hip circumference [4].

Boosts Metabolism

Both Cayenne pepper and capsicum have a strong thermogenic effect which enables you to burn more calories a day without investing time into physical activity. There was a study which reported that people who ate capsaicin have burned on average 51% more calories a day than people who didn’t [5].

May lower Blood pressure

High blood pressure may cause heart disease, strokes, arterial problems and kidney disease. It is one of the leading causes of many health problems. Cayenne pepper and capsaicin has shown to lower blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels as shown in some animal studies [6] [7] [8].

Treats psoriasis

Capsaicin can also be purchased as a skin care product; the cream has shown to reduce dry and itchy skin of psoriasis. Be cautious when applying the cream as there have been reports of itchiness and burning feeling after applications. These symptoms usually go away after a few applications. Capsaicin creams can be purchased on Amazon, we recommend Hotspot. This cream has a pleasant, rich and complex aroma and its formula is specifically designed to provide a soothing massage with heat sensation. It can be purchased here.

As mentioned earlier, capsaicin may help to relieve pain in the joints. It has properties to soothe symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, as well as certain kinds of joint pain [9].

May Aid in digestive problems

Foods rich in capsaicin such as Cayenne peppers have shown to boost the stomach’s defence system against infections and helps the digestion process by delivering enzymes to the tract. Some people may worry that capsaicin or cayenne pepper may cause stomach ulcers due to its spiciness, but there are studies that show that these herbs actually reduce the risk of stomach ulcers. Capsaicin does not stimulate but inhibits acid secretion, stimulates alkali, mucus secretions and particularly gastric mucosal blood flow which help in prevention and healing of ulcer [10] [11].

May reduce pain in hands and feet

Some early clinical studies have shown that applying a cream that contains 8% capsaicin one time can reduce pain due to nerve damage caused by cancer and nerve pain in lower back for up to 12 weeks [4].

Some studies have shown that applying a cream high in capsaicin into the inside of the nostril has reduced headaches and migraines and also reported a reduction in frequency of these headaches occurring [12].
